Gematria of Hebrew names

Gematria is the Jewish tradition of reading Hebrew words as numbers: every Hebrew letter has a value, and the value of a name is the sum of its letters. Because it works on Hebrew letters, the gematria of a name depends on its Hebrew spelling, not on how it is written in English.

English spellings are matched to the Hebrew names in our collection. For any other word, type it in Hebrew letters.

Hebrew letter values

This is the standard method (mispar hechrechi). The five final letter forms count the same as the regular letters, and vowel points are ignored.

Example: Noa

Noa is written נועה in Hebrew. Its letters are Nun (50), Vav (6), Ayin (70), He (5), so its gematria is 50 + 6 + 70 + 5 = 131.
